A PATTERN 1827 VICTORIAN NAVAL OFFICER'S BROAD-SWORD, circa 1870, 30 3/4in. double-edged blade with narrow double-fullers on each side, with shallow scroll-etching and royal cypher, brass proved plug on ricasso with 'FRASER & DAVIS / OUTFITTERS / PORTSMOUTH' to reverse, gilded brass guard with crown and fouled anchor, lion's head pommel, fish-skin grip with brass wire binding, guard hinged to form scabbard-catch, black leather scabbard with brass fittings and suspension rings, some staining and rust patches to blade, scabbard leather crazed and worn, brass fittings loose
