A GOOD PATTERN 1821/45 LIGHT CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD, circa mid-19th Century, with 35 1/4in. slightly curved blade, fullered and etched with royal cyphers and scroll-work to each side, ricasso with brass proved plug to one side and 'CATER'S / 56 / PALL MALL / LONDON' to the other, steel three-barred guard with quillion, black fish-skin grip bound with copper wire, together with its steel scabbard with two suspension rings, blade with some minor staining and edge-nicks, scabbard with some staining, rust patches on chape, and some shallow denting
