A PATTERN 1796 STYLE LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD, circa mid 19th Century with 33 3/4in. slightly curved, single edged blade fullered to each side, steel hilt, cross-guard with langets both sides, bowed knuckle-guard, leather covered grip bound with white metal wire, steel scabbard with two suspension rings, Farsi script to the drag represents the only markings seen, blade stained, grip-wire loose, chape dented and drag with surface rust, 40 1/2in. overall
