A NAMED GEORGE VI PATTERN 1827 ROYAL NAVY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, circa 1940, with 31 1/2in. blade, fullered and etched on each side with royal fouled anchor cyphers, brass proved plug in ricasso, brass hilt with folding inner guard and royal fouled anchor cypher, lion's head pommel, worn silver sword-knot, white fish-skin guard bound with copper wire, together with its black leather scabbard with brass mounts, inner guard inscribed 'E. C. JENET / R. N.' (the Navy Lists show an E. C. Jenet as a Lieutenant Surgeon in 1937 and 1941), blade with some staining, scabbard leather worn with a taped repair, 38 1/4in. overall
