I." back-action lock plain and unmarked, iron mounted two piece walnut stock, the forend cut back with one barrel band., iron mounted butt fitted with a crude pistolgrip, the Peabody features a tilting block action operated by an underlever and fitted with an external lock and hammer, it is regarded as being the forerunner of the Martini.
