A PAIR OF FRENCH MODEL 1866 CHASSEPOT BAYONETS, circa 1870s, with 22 1/2 in. single-edged steel blades fullered on each side, steel cross-guards, brass hilts, with their silver-painted steel scabbards; 1) dated 1873, blade back etched for Chatellerault arsenal, blade with rusting towards the tip, exposed steel rusted and pitted, scabbard rusted and pitted; 2) ricasso marked with a circled 'P', no inscription on blade back, cross-guard numbered 'K 58611', cross-guard rusted and pitted, scabbard rusted and pitted, each 28 in. overall
