A .65 PERCUSSION PATTERN 1853 2nd MODEL THREE BAND MUSKET, no visible serial number, circa 1856, with 39in. smoothbored barrel stamped with Ordnance proofs at breech, with modified blade front-sight, rear-sight removed, borderline engraved lock marked with the Crown V.R. cypher and '1856 / TOWER', regulation brass mounted full walnut stock with three spring retained barrel bands, the butt stamped 'W.D. 2 NEW', the musket has a good untouched sharp stock, the metalwork pitted and corroded overall.
