AN 8-BORE 1873 TREBLE WEDGE FAST PATENT 'FAR KILLING DUCK GUN' DOUBLE-BARRELLED TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 39970,
for 1892, with 34in. Greener trademarked fine damascus barrels, broad raised matt rib engraved 'W. W. GREENER. HAYMARKET LONDON & ST. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS. 1875. 1877. 1878 & 1879.', the rib end at breech with fine scroll engraving surrounding an oval inscribed 'PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST', colour hardened large size treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, broad blued strikers, rebounding sidelocks with bevelled 'C'-shaped hammers, border and scroll engraving, the toplever with an oval inscribed 'FAR KILLING DUCK GUN' and with a lone mallard, retaining the majority of its original colour-hardening, chequered walnut semi pistol-grip stock with english 'Silvers' type rubber heel-pad, chequered walnut fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial


Provenance: The Greener ledgers state that this gun was ordered for a 'Stark' and started on the 28 March 1891 and completed on the 1st of July the following year
