first model circa 1853, with 3 1/2in. octagonal barrel with scroll engraving to breech and an engraved band at muzzle, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, shallow notch rear-sight to top of standing breech, border engraved top-strap with central oval panel signed 'TRULOCK & HARRIS No.9 DAWSON ST. DUBLIN', fully scroll engraved frame, borderline engraved five-shot cylinder with further scroll engraving over each chamber and rope-twist border to leading edge, spur-less hammer, inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring, Tranter's patent trigger cocking mechanism (return spring at fault), finely chequered walnut butt with swollen pommel fitted with an engraved and moulded iron butt-cap and provision for a detachable rammer on the left side of frame, the whole retaining a strong amount of original finish and in a reproduction wood case partially relined and compartmented in green baize and including a flask, mould, turn-screw, reproduction detachable rammer, oil bottle and cap and bullet tins, some fresh rust to mould sprue-cutter and rammer
