A FINE INDO-PERSIAN KHANJAR WITH WATERED BLADE,
circa 1760, with slightly curved 8 1/2in. blade, segmented fuller to both sides of the finely watered (possibly Wootz) blade, the ricasso decorated with gold koftgari panels flanked to each side by Islamic inscriptions, iron hilt of classic form completely decorated with further gold koftgari foliate panels bordering central cartouches with Islamic inscriptions (lightly worn), complete with its watered steel scabbard decorated en-suite at the throat, the panels containing further Islamic inscriptions, the remainder of the scabbard plain but slightly faceted and terminating in a bulbous chape (some age cracking to scabbard)
